5 Simple Habits To Get Your Finances In Check!

You don’t become wealthy by making more money, you become wealthy by managing your money

Are you tired of wondering why you can never get ahead financially?

I remember being stuck in the day-to-day grind and getting my paycheck only to realize that I hardly had enough for bills, let alone anything else.

I also remember being so uninspired and in the dumps because I was constantly working a sporadic schedule and still not getting ahead in anything, nor did I have time to enjoy my life.

Today we’re going to talk about a couple of simple habits to start implementing in your life that will help you get a grip on your money.

Write Out All Off Your Expenses

Yes, I’m also talking about that daily trip to the coffee shop!

Check Your Bank Account Frequently

I know, you forgot about the other day when you swiped your card… I’m a daily or every-other-day type of person but I realize that can be slightly obsessive. I feel like if you’re getting your money in order then it’s completely acceptable. Trust me, there’s worse things to obsess about.

Know Where Your Money Is Going Before You Get It

This one is so important and also my favorite! I love to plan out my paycheck before it hits my account. I feel in control when I know exactly what I’m spending my money on, and how much I’ll have left to go to whatever I choose (Think savings, investing, vacations, house projects, clothes!)

Attack High Interest Debts

I’ll get into more of this in another post, but the idea is if they’re charging you for your debt, eliminate it.

Keep Track Of Your Debts

Write down how much you owe, how much you’re paying on your payment, and how much they’re charging you every month to keep money on that card! Once I started doing this I absolutely hated seeing that number only change by dollars when I was putting hundreds towards it. This is a great visual to see exactly how much money they’re getting off of you!

These are just a few things that I do frequently to keep myself in order. I’ve done these for years now so it’s second nature at this point.

Once I started implementing these into my busy schedule I was able to get a grasp on what I was working with, what I needed to tackle first, and I was able to write out my game plan.

Feel free to add to this – no one knows you better than yourself! What would you add to the list?
