Side Hustle Vs. Side Job

Are your expenses outweighing your income? If so, I’d say it’s time for you to do some reevaluating.

You only have two options at this point.

1. Cut out all unnecessary expenses.

2. Create more income.

I’ve been in this situation – a lot actually. I’ve found myself swiping my credit card for gas or groceries because I didn’t have enough in my account to cover it.

If you’re able to recognize that you’re doing this before it spins out of control, you’re already in the lead.

The worse thing you can tell yourself is that you’ll pay it off when your paycheck comes.

If you don’t have enough for it now, what makes you think you’ll have enough for it the next paycheck?

There’s many ways you can create more income but really it comes down to 1 of 2 things.

• Work for yourself (side hustle)

• Work for someone else (side job)

You can find millions of side hustles that you can start today and start making a profit on. Some don’t require much of you, others may require some money to get started.

The benefits of working a side hustle for yourself is that you’re able to control how hard/long you work and in turn can control your outcome from it.

If you get a side job for a company you’re likely working the schedule they give you, and getting paid the fixed amount you’ve agreed on.

I’m not knocking a side job, I’ve had plenty of them and they are reliable when you’re in those situations of needing to increase your income.

However, I’ve also had side hustles that have far exceeded payment from any side job I’ve ever had.

Truth be told, until about two years ago I’ve always had 2 jobs, or a side hustle.

If I had 2 days off at my regular 9-5 job, you can put money on it that I was working both of those days on my side hustles.

I believe that we’re conditioned to think we have to work until retirement which doesn’t occur until we’re old.

My thought is if I work hard enough now, and invest my money smartly to create passive income, that I can retire while I’m young enough to enjoy it.

That’s the goal anyways! Tell me what your thoughts are on retiring early.

Are we conditioned to believe we have to work until retirement age, or is there another way?
